I started making this version of a Mango Sorbet Margarita when I worked at the Four Season’s Resort in Dallas. One of my duties at the hotel was to make the ice creams and sorbets for different events, the restaurant and room service.
Because we had such a wide assortment of flavors, I liked to experiment with different adult milkshakes and cocktails made with the ice creams and sorbets. The Mango Sorbet Margarita was always one of my favorites. Not only is it a great cocktail, but it’s visually stunning and a lot of fun to drink.
Here’s how I make the Mango Sorbet Margarita:
- 1 Scoop Mango Sorbet
- 2 Ounces Anejo Tequila
- 1 Ounce Orange Liqueur (I like Grand Marnier)
- 1 Ounce Simple Syrup
- 1 Lime, Juice
-Place martini glass or coupe in the freezer, it needs to be ice cold
-Place scoop of sorbet into the glass and return to the freezer until ready to serve (this can be done well in advance)
-Combine the remaining ingredients in a cocktail shaker over ice, shake well
-Pour cocktail around the sorbet, not over the top, garnish and serve
