Homemade Cranberry Sauce

October 26, 2019 By Steven 1 Comment

My Super Easy Homemade Cranberry Sauce recipe is so much better than the stuff that comes in the can. Tart and sweet, the orange and the apple add a nice complexity to this cranberry sauce that makes it great for a variety of uses. Not only is it great on turkey, ham, and dressing, etc. but I also love it on desserts and in cocktails.

Ingredients in Cranberry Sauce

  • Cranberries: Fresh cranberries are amazing to cook with. They have loads of pectin in them and create a beautifully thick and brilliant red sauce.
  • Golden Delicious Apple: Cranberries on there own are extremely tart. Adding chunks of apple to cranberry sauce adds great texture and flavor which not only compliment the sauce but the main course as well.
  • Oranges: The zest and juice of orange are very complementary to the cranberries and apples. It’s a great combination, perfect for this sauce.
  • Granulated Sugar: This cranberry sauce needs a little sweetness to counteract how sour fresh cranberries are.
