Teriyaki Green Beans

Teriyaki Green Beans are a simple side dish that I always prepare with my Ginger Sesame Tuna Steak. The green beans are fried in a combination of canola oil and a little sesame oil for flavor. At the end of cooking, I add a splash of Teryaki sauce and a sprinkling of sesame seeds. The Teriyaki green beans are delicious, healthy and a great side for my seared tuna steaks.

This is an excellent recipe if you are new to Asian cooking, particularly Japanese food. Japanese cooking can be intimidating and scares away many a good cook. Yes, I’ll admit I’m a terrible sushi chef and doubt that will ever improve. However, this Teriyaki Green Bean recipe is very easy and should not worry you at all.

I use a store-bought Teriyaki sauce in my green bean recipe. However, most Teriyaki sauces are made with regular high-sodium soy sauce. The good news is, if you want low-sodium Teriyaki sauce, the recipe is simple and you can make it yourself. Teriyaki sauce is made with soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger, and takes only a few minutes to prepare.

Don’t be intimidated by Asian cooking. My Teriyaki Green Beans are a great beginner recipe and a wonderful introduction to Japanese cooking.
