Vanilla Lemon Drop Martini

February 25, 2018 By Steven 2 Comments

Just like the candy, this Vanilla Lemon Drop Martini is sweet and delicious, oftentimes served with a sugar-rimmed glass. It’s just like an amazing spiked lemonade. My Lemon Drop cocktail recipe falls somewhere in between the Lemon Drop shot and a Martini. I feel the vermouth takes it away from the classic Lemon Drop recipe and personally I think it is too sweet to be a Martini. Make yourself a couple, and if you have a good idea for a name, let me know, I’d love to hear it!

Vanilla Lemon Drop Martini Ingredients

  • Vodka: Vodka is traditional liquor in a lemon drop cocktail. Although, I have made this recipe with Gin as well and it is excellent. However, if using Gin, don’t shake the Martini, stir it. As far as vodka goes, I live in Texas and support our hometown boy Tito Beveridge, so I always use Tito’s Vodka.
  • Dry Vermouth: I like the Noilly Prat Extra Dry Vermouth in this drink recipe. It has a complex depth of flavor and character that is excellent in the Lemon Drop cocktail.
  • Lemon Juice and Simple Syrup: Sweet and sour, this Lemon Drop has the perfect amount of both. An equal amount of simple syrup and lemon juice is a great contrast to the vodka and dry vermouth.
  • Vanilla Extract: A hint of vanilla makes this Lemon Drop Martini the perfect spiked lemonade cocktail. I like the subtle flavor the vanilla adds to the drink.
