Popsicle Margaritas

I make these Popsicle Margaritas using Mexican fruit popsicles are called ‘paletas’ and around the corner from my home is a great Fruiteria. They sell an amazing variety of delicious frozen treats including these paletas. Obviously, I can’t leave well enough alone and the mixologist in me wants to make cocktails out of popsicles every time I have one. Popsicle Margaritas are in particularly excellent with these delicious frozen fruit pops. Lime, strawberry, and mango are my favorites, but watermelon, blueberry, and raspberry margaritas aren’t too shabby either.

I start with my ice-cold sugarless margarita recipe (I call it a Tequila Kamikaze on the blog) and stick one of these fruity frozen popsicles in it. The fun part is deciding whether to eat the popsicle and drink the margarita or stir the cocktail until the popsicle is completely melted. It’s a tough decision.

Sugarless Tequila Kamikaze

My Tequila Kamikaze recipe is the answer to the skinny Margarita and its the perfect base for the Popsicle Margarita. I love a good, top-shelf, high-quality Margarita. However, there is a lot of sugar in most of them. In an effort to fight the war on useless carbs, many people have turned to the dreaded Skinny Margarita. But, let’s be real, the Skinny Margarita sucks. I’m sorry I just can’t stand the after taste of artificial sugar. And to be perfectly honest, the super sticky sweet Kool-Aid type Margarita is really bad too.

Here is my recipe Popsicle Margaritas
