Ingredients

  • 1 Pound Smoked Bacon Thick cut
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Maple Syrup
  • 1 Teaspoon Black Pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400F
  • Combine maple syrup and brown sugar in a bowl, microwave briefly just to dissolve the brown sugar
  • Line a sheet pan with aluminum foil, place a wire rack over the foil
  • Careful with hot syrup, lay the bacon flat on the wire rack, spoon half of the syrup over the top of the bacon, reserve the remaining half for the other side of the bacon
  • Add black pepper to the top of the bacon, place the bacon in the hot oven, after 15 minutes, turn the bacon over and spoon on the remaining maple syrup glaze
  • Roast to desired crispness level, 20-30 minutes
  • Hot sugar burns, so carefully remove bacon from the rack, don’t let the pieces of bacon touch each other or they will stick together
  • Serve warm or at room temperature
